GhanCommercial Properties isexcited to announce that Fort Smith was recently named the cheapest city to live in by Kiplinger.com.In a recent raking held by the website, Fort Smith came out first, or least expensive, among U.S. cities with metropolitan populations of 75,000 or more. The report is based on the ACCRA cost of living index and on medium household income and average home prices from Toronto-based Martin Prosperity Institute. According to the report, Fort Smith's latest cost-of-living index is 85.2.

Gerber Plans to Expand Fort Smith Plant
R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties would like to congratulate Gerber on their recently announced plans to expand their Fort Smith plant. Gerber officials will soon begin work on a $89.9 million expansion that will create up to 50 new jobs for the area. The company says the new expansion will be "the most significant expansion and re-design" of the plant since its opening in 1964. Construction will begin immediately and is projected to be completed by September of 2012.

They are now located at 2254 Fayetteville Rd. in an out parcel of the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Their new location features 5,525 square feet of space. Their hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. R.H. Ghan has recently learned that Citi Trends Inc. is planning to open a 425,000 square foot apparel distribution center in Roland, OK. Citi Trends is a value-priced retailer of urban fashion apparel and accesories. The company's president and CEO, David Alexander, said the company will hire between 200 and 250 new employees over the next two years. The company looked ata number of sites in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas before choosing the existing facility in Roland.
Fort Smith Welcomes New Piano Bar
R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties is excited to announce the opening of a new piano bar to downtownFort Smith. Mojo's Ivory House and Dueling Piano Bar held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday and will be open to the public on Friday, May 21st. The new bar will be located at 823 Garrison Avenue in the former Davis Furniture building. The non-smoking bar and lounge will seat up to 250 with occupancy up to 400. Mojo's will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Tuesdays through Saturday with the dueling piano shows Thursdays through Saturday.
Jazz Fest Coming to Downtown Fort Smith
R.H. Ghan recently learned the Jazz Fest has been "rebooted" this year and has been moved to downtown Fort Smith. This year the event,previously held at Creekmore Park,will be held at Ross Pendergraft Park, 200 Garrison Ave on May 22. The festival will feature the Northside Highschool Jazz Program at 1 p.m., followed by Scott McQuade at 1:45 p.m., The DJ McRoberts Combo at 3:15 p.m., Odis Elevator and the Flights at 4:15 p.m., Rogers Jazz Society at 5:45 p.m., and Jazz heavyweight Ted Ludwig at 7:15 p.m..The festival is free and open to all ages.
Fort Smith Art Center Gets New Site and New Name
R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties is excited to announce the Ft.Smith Art Center will soon have many changes. In early 2011 the art center will officially change it's name to: The Fort Smith Regional Art Museum. Along with the new name will be a new location. Arvest Bank donated the building located at 1601 Rogers Avenue. Renovations recently began at the new site. Patrons of the new location may use the internet coffee shop, digital workroom, and library. A gift shop as well as meeting places will also be included within the 15,000 square foot building.
