Stone County is located in North Central Arkansas and offers four moderate seasons. Usually, the hottest month is July with an average high of 91 degrees. The coldest month of the year is generally January with an average high of 46 degrees. The Spring and Fall are wonderful times to make your first trip to the Ozarks. Music and craft festivals abound throughout the area showcasing the redbuds and dogwoods in the Spring and the colorful foliage in the Fall.

Stone County and Mountain View are home to several unique attractions. Blanchard Springs Caverns (located in the Ozark National Forest) offers three different guided cave tours, swimming, fishing and camping. Noted scientist, David H. Levy, ranked Blanchard Springs Caverns number five in his tour of forty-one caves in 2001. He was amazed by the variety of exquisite formations and the size of the underground rooms.
The Ozark Folk Center State Park is dedicated to preserving the traditional music and crafts of our mountain heritage. The full service park offers craft demonstrations, musical shows, herb and flower gardens, lodging and several dining options.
Mountain View is becoming a favorite of classic car enthusiasts and bikers. They both enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery from our highways. Several car and bike shows are held in Mountain View annually.
Outdoor activities abound in Stone County. The White River offers world class trout fishing and other water sports opportunities. The Ozark National Forest features the challenging and beautiful Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail and over 55 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails.
