This First Presbyterian Church in Camden was established in 1852.
This small group of believers met in a log cabin home until the first
quaint two-story building was erected in 1858. This building was
replaced with a new church dedicated in 1905. An educational building
was completed in 1957. The new sanctuary with seating capacity for
325 is the current place of worship and was completed in 1966 along
with a parlor, fellowship hall and kitchen. The bell in the tower was
moved to its present location from the original church and can be heard
ringing every Sunday morning. Since its inception, two congregations
have joined FPC: Champion Hill Presbyterian Church of Cullendale in
1961 and Second Presbyterian Church of Camden in the late 1980's.
